Following our mail dated Feb.21 (below) we would like to inform you that the Microwave & Radar Week MRW'2014 has been transfered from Lviv to Gdansk.
Both conferences MIKON'2014 and IRS'2014 will be held in parallel on June 16-18. Detail information on the venue and contact persons in Gdansk will be given in a few days.
Taking into account many requests of the regular MIKON and IRS participants, the deadline for submission of the full manuscripts has been extended by March 30.
All members of the International Microwave Community traditionally participating in conferences MIKON and IRS are deeply upset by current traumatic events in Ukraine. We feel sincere sorrow and would like to transmit to all Ukrainians our words of sympathy and support.
We truly hope that the situation in Ukraine will stabilize during the following months. We also look forward to being able to enjoy our visit to Lviv during the International Microwave and Radar Week scheduled for June 16-20.
Accordingly, we hereby encourage those who have not submitted their conference contributions yet to do so before the extended deadline of March 3.
Although we strongly believe that we will succeed in organizing and running the International Microwave and Radar Week in Lviv in accordance with our original plans, we also need to take into account some uncertainty as regards further evolution of the political events. Potential MIKON and IRS participants may be interested to know that the Steering and Organizing Committees of both conferences have made preliminary preparations to transfer the conferences to Poland, should such a necessity arise. In such a rescue case, the International Microwave and Radar Week would run over the originally planned period of time but in city of Gdansk. All contributing authors and other potential participants will be informed of the eventually decided location and venue not later than by 15 March 2014.
